Books and Bargains

I am thankful for books! I love getting lost in a good story. I wish I had more time to read, but being a mom keeps me busy. Every Tuesday after story time at the library, we go up to the kids section so Adeline and Ryder can play with the puzzles and books. I really enjoy that time because I let myself just sit and read. I never let myself do that at home, because there is always something that needs to be done!

Last Wednesday through Sunday, my mom came to visit! It was great catching up and she was such a huge help. Matt and I were able to go out on a date Friday night so that was nice :) Saturday, mom and I went antique and thrift store shopping. I was pretty happy with my great bargains...5 vintage books and 4 christmas placemats all for $1.32!!! I would say that is a pretty good deal! Thanks Mom for the expensive purchases :)

I'm so excited for the holidays!  I love spending time with family and eating delicious food. I can't so no to food during the holidays, so I have got to make myself work out religiously these next few months! I have a lot of great holiday recipes I want to try out. Hopefully some of them will turn out so I can post the recipes.
I have all these great ideas for Christmas decor and DIY projects but I doubt I'll put any of them to use since it's very rare if we have people over! That's why I don't like living in a place where we don't really know anyone. I would love to have people over more often. I'm still going to enjoy decorating for Christmas but I doubt I will go all out.

Here are a couple pics of Adeline a couple weekends ago playing in the leaves at "Peepaw Mike's" :)
