House update, Haircuts and Sloppy Joe's

At Young's on Mother's Day

Before bedtime...she likes sleeping on the floor :)
This weekend we actually stayed in Wapakoneta instead of going to Cedarville. We had an open house on Sunday so we wanted to get our house cleaned up inside and out on Saturday. It was a bad day to have the open house because it was cold and rainy. We figured no one would show up. We've been discouraged about the lack of interest in our house. During the open house we went to the bank, got the kid's haircuts, and went to Dairy Queen. They are both so good about getting their hair cut. They sit really still and don't make a sound! It's so cute :) Matt talked to the realtor when we got back and he told him that with the way the housing market is right now we won't be making any money off our house if we were to sell it now and that we may even lose money. We have talked about finding renters for our home that way we could make some money and try to sell our house when the housing market goes up in a few years. Matt got on Craigslist that afternoon and someone had posted that day that they were looking for a 3 bedroom house to rent in Wapak. Matt called and the couple came that night to look at it. They called back and hour or two later and said they wanted to sign a 1 year lease! It was such a nice surprise! They are supposed to stop by this week to sign the lease, so I'm just hoping everything follows through. If so, we should be moved to Columbus by July. We are so excited!

I had been craving my Mother-In-Law's sloppy joe recipe for awhile now and I finally ended up making it for dinner last week. It is so good!
Sloppy Joe's
2 lb. lean ground beef
1 cup chopped green pepper or celery (optional)
1 cup chopped onion (I used minced onions instead)
2 Tbs. brown Sugar
2 tsp. dry Mustard
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 cup  ketchup
2 Tbs. worcestershire sauce
1-2 cans tomato sauce (I use 1 can)
In large skillet, combine and cook ground beef, pepper and onion. Drain. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally. Makes 10-12 sandwiches.
